Pain is an excellent motivator

One of my most frequently asked professional questions has a very personal answer:

Q: Why did you learn Reiki?

A: Headaches.

Pain is an excellent motivator. I was at my wits end when a friend suggested that I learn Reiki so that I could practice daily self-Reiki until my headaches cleared up.

I may have raised an eyebrow at her suggestion because learning Reiki seemed an out-of-the-blue suggestion.

Yet, learning Reiki felt right to me somehow … like the new skill would give me a sense of control over my own destiny.

And you know what? It worked. (So grateful.)

Daily self-Reiki is what my body needed and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to work Reiki into my daily routine (aka, giving self Reiki while falling asleep at night — best sleep EVER).

I was hooked. My long commute became my time for learning more and more about Reiki using books on Audible. I signed up to learn Reiki Level Two as well.

My teammates refer to my stick figures as Pear People.

I dove into Reiki because that is what I do when learning something new. The deep dive is not necessary. Reiki meets us where we are … no questions asked.

We are all born to Reiki.

Reiki is universal life force energy. We have it inside of us already. All of us. Our Reiki is simply dormant and waiting to awaken. Reiki teachers activate their students’ Reiki using a process called attunement.

In the early days of Reiki teaching in North America, access to the training was expensive and exclusive. Today, as many of us are connected to a world of information via the phone in our pocket, selecting a Reiki system and teacher can be overwhelming because of SO MANY options, cost, and time commitments.

Simple & flexible.

Old Gratefulā„¢ Reiki learning workshops are welcoming/informal and designed for simplicity and time flexibility. Each level’s training consists of an engaging two-hour workshop containing the essential learning and attunement, followed by four weeks of Q&A discussion via group chat. Reiki is taught using the following three levels:

  • Level 1 ~ Near ← the self-Reiki level that helped me (Lori) clear my headaches!

    • Sign up for an upcoming DIY Reiki course (complete with attunement) to activate the power of Reiki in your šŸ™Œ hands!

  • Level 2 ~ Far1 - Learn symbols that enable you to send Reiki at a distance.

  • Level 3 ~ Mastery2
