This week’s Ayurvedic Spring Cleanse is a welcome way for me to plug-in to my body, provide the proper cleansing nutrition my body needs, and process / digest beautifully.
Why am I cleansing?
I love the digestive deep clean that cleansing offers;
I seek the mental clarity that I feel during and after cleansing; and
Ayurvedic cleansing is gentle, mindful, and effective. My body appreciates the attention: this is THE week that I REALLY LISTEN to the parts of my body that do the daily work of releasing what no longer serves me.

Today — on this first day of my cleanse1 — I set personal intentions for listening and allowing as a way to “plug in” to my body:
I am aware of my body and provide the nutrition she needs;
I accept the cleanse process and honor my body without shame; and
I appreciate my body and celebrate her strength.
I’ll share bits of learning and awareness along the way, as well as post some pictures of the awesome food. (The recipes are easy and delicious.)
One more intention: Connect with cooking as enjoyment and part of a healthy life. This is going to be amazing!
I am grateful.

I love the flexibility that our Holistic Ayurvedic Practitioner offers by design. She’s kind, funny, super-smart, and understands that life has scheduling challenges and the official cleanse start date may not be ideal for the full group, so she builds options into the schedule and guides us through. I had a prior family commitment, so rather than stressing to start the cleanse on Sunday with the group, I opted to begin today / Tuesday. I am grateful for the ease of participating in the cleanse AND being present for my family.
